Oh well, some one with his hare mind proposed that teen should enter a 3-month-program called “Khidmat Negara” to make Malaysian more patriotic. Since Singapore has a more elaborate version of “National service”, and “Khidmat Negara” basically means “National Service” anyway (what am I talking?), everyone hence equating the dodgy “Khidmat Negara” program as NS…
But wait, NS is and was, strictly speaking, well associated with people in Negeri Sembilan! and NS is a freaking state of Malaysia! Like people won’t really use KL to refer to Kuai Lan or SG to refer to ShotGun right?
Nah, seems like we are just getting too in love with abbreviation~
